The people who most often say "do the work ..."
are the ones least likely to have done the work. The work is always ugly.
Yeah, just go do the work. We’ve all heard that. Like the work is easy. I’ve sent more than 500 pitches for my novel. It’s a novel about 2 men and goat who become indelibly linked in friendship and healed trauma. Except at the moment, book publishers don’t want deep. They want romantasy. They want beach reads. They want the quick & easy sell. Because the business of bookselling is “Keep boosting those quarterly numbers! Maximize Shareholder Value! GET YOUR TPS REPORTS IN BY SATURDAY!!!”
It’s okay, it’ll just make my speech at the Mann Booker Award dinner that much more entertaining.
But I digress. If it’s work, it’s hard. If it’s work, it’s ugly. I’m right there with you.
If this work resonates with you, it the notion of stoic thought for today’s world makes sense, if you like a few minutes of thought in the ceaseless current of noise out there… then consider a share, a like, a follow, a comment. thanks. It is the only way.
